The following comment from Martin Berger, president and COO of the Israel Baseball League, has appeared on the Tabloid Baby website, seven minutes after we posted our exclusive interview with Our Man Elli in Israel, and more than an hour after we broke the news that the IBL commissioner and board member have quit amid questions about the league's dealings:


I wanted to let everyone know what is going on with the league.

Our Commissioner as well as several others who you may or may not know, have decided to resign and I wanted you all to know about it first.

On behalf of the IBL, we thank each of them for their help in launching this amazing venture. I want you all to know that this will have no effect on the incredible things going on right now with the League. Dan Duquette, Larry Baras, Ami Baran and I are working tirelessly to make the 2008 season one to remember. We have every intention of playing next season and will be updating the website shortly with exciting news.

As always, if you have any questions, do not ever hesitate to drop me a line.

Martin Berger knew that this is the gathering place for IBL players and the clearinghouse for information in this story of international and generational import. I can not believe that Martin is sticking by Larry. We have not been paid. Does that mean anything to you?
Why don't you tell us why they resigned?
Kurtzer and the bunch are proper people as opposed to Larry.Perhaps , Larry has not shared any financial info with them. Perhaps , he has used IBL money for non baseball related items.
Martin, wake up and smell the coffee. I thought you were smarter than that.
You are going to be dragged down a horrible path.

proper people. He knew that the league had a shortfall of cash a long time ago. If Larry is a 'crook' (we did get to play in israel and btw we got most of our money , just the last payment) (oops, except for the israeli players but i bet you they are lining up for next season) so is Kurtzer and the advisory board , Marv who??? Andrew Zimbalist , who the hell is that???? and by the way the baseball cards , disgusting !!!

Now the legacy of that toy is haunting Mega Brands, the Canadian firm that purchased Rose Art.

Mega Brands officials allege in a lawsuit that Jeffrey and Lawrence Rosen -- the brothers who sold them Rose Art, then led that division after the merger -- didn't fix the problems with the dangerous toy in part because they didn't want to jeopardize personal multimillion-dollar payouts tied to profit targets.

Kenny Sweet Jr., a suburban Seattle toddler, died, and at least 27 other children suffered serious intestinal injuries after swallowing tiny magnets that fell out of Magnetix toys.
