Farrah Fawcett swimsuit scar photo for sale

A rare early swimsuit photo of a teenage Farrah Fawcett is going up for auction next week.

Collectors Michael H. Epstein and Scott E. Schwimer will sell the picture through on March 26 and March 27.

The photo was taken by famed photographer Harry Langdon, Jr. in Marina de Rey, California.

It shows Farrah in a bikini, and reveals a large scar from an appendectomy.

A rare Polaroid of Farrah, taken by Andy Warhol, is going up for bids in July Someone else is selling what's said to be a lock of Farrah's golden hair.

Farrah died last June at 62 after a brave battle with cancer.

This photo has been around a while and it's not exactly rare either.

The original post wasn't referencing this photo they were referencing the WARHOL Polaroid that is going up for auction. Besides, any original copy of a photo is rare.

Calling out to GENUINE Farrah Fawcett fans ... Please help me refresh my memory! ... In regards to the Farrah Swimsuit Poster .. (why they call it the RED swimsuit, is beyond me, for it was, and never was, RED! ... It was always a RUST color to me! AND I am NOT color bind!) ... Anyway, my question is this ...

How do you know if the poster is an ORIGINAL??? Please do not tell me about the copywrite etc. on the lower left hand side, for that can also be copied.

Also, the photo itself ... I believe it was kind of 'grainy' in texture ... am I correct in saying this? Meaning, it wasn't a SHARP focus image, or clear as daylight. Am I correct??? I know I can look at the photos posted on the internet, BUT they aren't really accurate, for her bathin' suit does look redish, in those photos, yet that in itself is false. I'd like to hear from those of you who still has the ORIGINAL from 1976, poster, please!

Hi michael I attended an Auction for the liquidation of the Pro/Arts Studios last Oct. They had a lot of stuff left in their ware house since closing in 1984. I acquired among many things a four negative set of Farrah in that suit also attached to them was what i believe to be the first poster from that original run. How cool. robin, usa

This is NOT an appendectomy scar, unless Farrah had an appendix in a place where none have been before. It should be much lower down and on the right side.

Correct!
This doesn't look like an appendix op scar at all. On the Newsday website it was mentioned (July 2009) that "less than a month old she underwent surgery to remove a digestive tract tumour she was born with". This and the scar point to Farrah having had infant pyloric stenosis: the stomach outlet becomes swollen and causes vomiting which is fatal unless treated with medicine or surgery.

Somebody's doctored the scar. Shame! Originally this and other copies of this image don't have the black markings.

I met Farrah prior to her cancer diagnosis. I was caring for a hospital patient who she frequently visited and we spent many hours together. we had nice long talks about all sorts of things and at one point she raised up her shirt revealing her abdominal scars. She said that as a baby she had surgery for pyloric stenosis.

Belated thanks, Carol, for confirming my thinking.
