A year without Farrah

Photographers were there as Ryan O'Neal brought Redmond O'Neal, his son with Farrah Fawcett and heir to her millions, to visit the actress' grave on the first anniversary of her death. The drug-troubled, often-jailed Redmond is said to be sober.

Some body to share Farrah Fawcett's grave?

While controversy swirls around her legacy and Farrah Fawcett rests in the Westwood Village Memorial Park behind the towers of Wilshire Boulevard, a new question has arisen surrounding the odd placement of her name on her headstone.

More than one observer has commented that Farrah's name is placed high on the stone, with lots of space below.

The reason for all that empty space? One reader has offered fascinating speculation:

"It may be that Ryan O'Neal is planning to be buried in the same plot with his name on the same stone. This would be why there's so much room left under Farrah's name. This would also explain why Farrah was not cremated as (Farrah's college sweetheart and late-life secret lover) Greg Lott and others know was Farrah's wish."


Fascinating! In fact, O'Neal could have gotten the idea while on a somber walk through the park, where he could have bumped into the grave of Farrah's fellow Seventies television icon, Carroll O'Connor, who generously shares his plot and gravestone with not only his wife, but his troubled, drug-addicted son--

Troubled, drug addicted son? All the more poignant reason for Farrah to make room.


But Ryan O'Neal? Linked with Farrah through eternity? For now, it's only speculation, but at least Farrah gets top billing.

Exclusive: Birthday angel at Farrah's grave

A holographic angel has been sighted on Farrah Fawcett's gravestone at the Westwood Village Meorial Park. A Tabloid Baby reader sent along the photos of the eerie paperweight, marked with the words "Happy B'day."


While legal battles raged on around her legacy since her death on June 25th, the beloved Hollywood icon and original Charlie's Angel would have celebrated her 63rd birthday on Tuesday, February 2nd.

Farrah Fawcett's headstone was recently inscribed with her name. RadarOnline posted the first photos from the Westwood Village Memorial Park. Farrah died on June 25th and was laid to rest on June 30th.

Today we ran into Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O'Neal

We saw Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O'Neal this afternoon, separately, of course. We ran into Ryan after he burst in through the back door of Musso & Frank in Hollywood in time for lunch, big and only occasionally boisterous in a double-breasted brown suit, settling into a booth with a couple of women. Farrah we happened to visit at the Westwood Village Memorial Park because there was traffic on Wilshire Boulevard and we had some time to kill on the way back to the Tabloid Baby office.


We also wanted to see if her tombstone has yet been inscribed. It hasn't, so Farrah's unmarked grave took some finding. There were a number of similar unmarked plots with a headstone and two benches in this newer, more modern south side of the cemetery (the middle of the park has mostly ground-level markers while many folks are slid into crypts along the walls) but we knew Farrah is next to Merv Griffin.


Farrah rests across the driveway from Dominique Dunne, whose father Dominick died yesterday. Dominique's death by strangling at the hands of her boyfriend set her father on his career chronicling celebrity murder trials.


Billy Wilder is buried in a small section behind Farrah, with one grave separating him from Jack Lemmon. We liked his inscription best.

No words on Farrah's headstone

Lisa Burks write on her Adventures in Grave Hunting blog of a recent visit to Farrah Fawcett's grave at the Westwood Memorial Park:

"Last I've heard or seen, the marble marker in the garden plot where Farrah Fawcett was buried remains un-engraved.

"I guess that's why, when I saw her best friend of 30 years, Alana Stewart, all over the news today promoting her book about Farrah, less than two months after the Angel's death, my head kind of exploded.

"Granted, Alana might not be in charge of getting that task accomplished. And I'm sure she means well. But, all things being equal, the visuals of Farrah's blank slate versus a 288-page book that in essence capitalizes on her death strikes me as beyond tacky and rather cha-ching!-ish..."

Farrah's grave

Farrah Fawcett was laid to rest at Westwood Memorial Park, the small but celebrity-packed graveyard, hidden away behind a movie theatre and office buildings off Wilshire Blvd., not far from the condo where she spent her final months.


According to the Adventures in Grave Hunting blog, Farrah's grave "is located in a prominent garden plot on the south side of the cemetery, across the lawn from another famous blonde... Marilyn Monroe"-- and next to Merv Griffin.


The cemetery is the final resting place for other tragic beauties including Natalie Wood. Minnie Ripperton, Heather O'Rourke and Dominique Dunne.
