Democracy was in action this morning as Lyndon LaRouche's extremists set up a table on Sunset Boulevard near the Starbucks and tried to draw passersby into conversation and then hit them up for a donation. Old men walked up to yell insults from a safe distance, women screamed obscenities from passing cars. The first time we saw the LaRouchies and their card table was thirty years ago in the small town of Wilton, Connecticut. Back then, their sign read, "Feed Jane Fonda To The Whales."
