"Thanks to all my new friends
in Austin for making last night's

I love Austin! One of the if not
the best audience in the world.
Literally.
Hope to come back soon...
On to Denver!"

Casino Jack starring Kevin Spacey opens in December. His cousin John Hickenlooper is mayor of Denver, a former brewpub owner who's running for governor of Colorado.

Greg Giraldo is latest comic dying

We hear Greg Giraldo follows Robert Schimmel as the latest quick-witted, very funny filthy comedian to die days after being rushed to a hospital. With Schimmel, it was a car accident; Giraldo overdosed on prescription drugs over the weekend, reportedly "accidentally." Too bad. very sad. Artie Lange should remember that life is precious. And we recall that as a judge on Last Comic Standing this past summer, Giraldo often looked like he'd been dragged out of a crack house without a shower.

Only 44. Went to Harvard. Comedy ain't funny. RIP.

That's life: A car crash, not cancer, cirrhosis or a wife, kills Robert Schimmel

Robert Schimmel has been fighting non-Hodgkin lymphoma, cirrhosis and demons for a few years now. None of them could kill him. A car crash could. Schimmel died last night from injuries in an accident Thirsday on Highway 10 in Phoenix. He wasn't even driving. His 19 year-old daughter Aliyah was. She swerved and lost control. She's in stable condition.

Schimmel was a "dirty" comic and frequently hilarious. He said his hero was Lenny Bruce.

His life was a real comedy.

He married his first wife, Vicki, in 1977, and they had four children. Their son Derek died of cancer at age 11.

In 1998, he he suffered a heart attack. In June 2000, he was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin lymphoma. His treatments included chemotherapy and required long stays in the hospital. During one session, his daughter Jessica brought her best friend, Melissa, to visit, and he began an affair with Melissa, who was about half his age. When Schimmel's cancer went into remission,he broke off with Melissa and returned to Vicki. Schimmel then reunited with Melissa, and she got pregnant. He divorced Vicki and married Melissa. They had two sons.

During an interview on Howard Stern's private pay radio show on January 28, 2010, Schimmel revealed that he'd contracted cirrhosis as a result of a Hepatitis C infection from a blood transfusion and that he was trying to get on a waiting list for a donated liver.

On May 2, 2009, he was arrested for alleged domestic battery of Melissa. On May 8, 2009, Melissa Schimmel. The DA eventually declined to press charges.

We'll stop there. Robert Schimmel was booked to play the Improv in Kansas City this weekend.

He was 60.

Lindsay Lohan's latest picture

A Lohan picture worth a thousand words

Lindsay Lohan's loving mother Dina followed Lindsay into court this morning on the talented but troubled actress' way to jail. Think mama has issues?

Lindsay Lohan goes back to jail

Her father's prayers were not enough.

(Michael Lohan has issued a statement through his attorney: "Michael spent the morning praying for his daughter. He's devastated she's going to jail. He loves her very much and he'll pray for her."

Lindsay Lohan taking same drug that killed Danny Gans

Lindsay Lohan is taking the same drug that killed Danny Gans. The probation report handed to the court in Beverly Hills in advance of the talented and troubled actress’ sentencing on Tuesday reveals that the 24-year-old has prescriptions for and has been gobbling a combination of drugs including the amphetamine Aderall, anti-depressants Zoloft and Trazodone and Nexium, which is used to treat acid reflux.

The most disturbing and dangerous addition to the legal cocktail, however, is the powerful opiate Dilaudid-- also known as hydromorphone or “drugstore heroin."

Dilaudid is the drug that contributed to the untimely death of Las Vegas superstar Danny Gans in June 2009.

Lindsay's father Michael has been saying for weeks that his daughter is addicted to prescription drugs, trying in vain to get someone to listen.

P.I. claims "proof" Patrick McDermott lives

A private eye searching for Patrick McDermott, Olivia Newton-John's former boyfriend who vanished five years ago, says his hunt is over after he received "conclusive proof" he's alive.

McDermott was 48 when he disappeared from a fishing boat that set off from San Pedro on June 30, 2005. He was believed to have fallen overboard but his body was never recovered, and it wasn't long before it was revealed he had financial troubles and may have faked his death and was hiding out on Mexico's Baja coast.

Texas-based P.I. Philip Klein worked on the case for NBC''s tabloid show Dateline. He said yesterday that he had "concluded beyond a reasonable doubt that Mr. McDermott is alive."

He said his team was checking documents and voice recordings of McDermott that he and his lawyer had provided in return for detectives agreeing to leave him alone.

Said Klein: "Mr. McDermott's wishes, according to his counsel, is not to be 'hounded' any longer by investigators or the media."

He alleged that McDermott faked his death to escape mounting debts and to enable his teenage son to benefit from a $100,000 US life insurance policy.

McDermott's disappearance wasn't made pubic for seven weeks, when a reporter linked his name to Newton-John. The Aussie songbird never reported him missing, despite claims they'd been involved in a nine-year romance. Newton-John later gave conflicting responses for the oversight, and finally said that she'd broken up with McDermott. The Coast Guard kept the case open. In 2008, Newton-John married someone else.

Tabloid Baby was the only news organization to remain on the story since 2005. Our reports kept the story alive, and led to reports of McDermott sightings and Klein's involvement last year.

Klein reported contact with McDermott in 2009, though he has not shown any concrete "proof of life" which he claims to have in possession. We do know he is writing a book about his search.

We'll withhold huzzahs until he produces the live McDermott.

TMZ is covering Lindsay Lohan to death

Yes, Lindsay Lohan is in bad shape. The talented, troubled, hard-partying, hardly-working actress is on a downward slide. She's in denial. Nobody's taking her father seriously. The people around her have no interest in extending her waiting period before passing on to lucrative immortality. And we must report our observation that the gleeful, spiteful reportage of her imminent demise and subsequent humiliation by the corporate porn-pushing gossip site TMZ.com is certainly adding to her embarrassment, confusion and abetting her deterioration.

First the sewer site reports that she's going to die. Then the D-team quotes unnamed law enforcement sources saying they're "worried" about her-- all the while dispatching scumbags with home video cameras to doorstep, harass and verbally assault the poor young woman until she trips and falls into the bushes.

Now they really gang up and let the world know her finances are in disarray and that she can't pay her rent.

Oh, those lowballs pretend to be concerned. But they can't help betray their true colors with titles like this one this morning:

"Have a nice trip?" You bastards. You soulless, heartless bastards. The shaved bronzed midget and his budgie budget boy bullies can't wait to have a death on their hands.

ALERT: Why does TMZ care about Lindsay Lohan all of a sudden?

All of a sudden the corporate porn-pushing gossip site TMZ.com cares about Lindsay Lohan? After years of harassing, intruding, taunting, bothering and humiliating the talented, troubled, hard-partying, hardly working actress, they run an "exclusive" story that her drug use is out of control and she may be near death?

What's their game? Lindsay's father Michael Lohan has been shouting that fact from the rooftops for three years now. We've raised the alarm on a regular basis (as seen below).

Is it a coincidence that the shaved bronzed midget frontman and his toddler army run this "exclusive" story the very same week we threw up our hands and suspended our long-running Lindsay Lohan Watch, that Michael Lohan threatened physical harm paparazzi who endanger his daughter, and a former employee sued the sleaze operation, alleging drug and booze use and harassment?

What do they know? Is TMZ about to be implicated in something? We know they don't care about Lindsay Lohan's health, so why now?

Developing...

Lindsay Lohan, watch!

Her tumble into a cactus after a night of revelry is another reason we've discontinued our Lindsay Lohan Watch, and stopped chronicling the activities of the talented, troubled, hard-partying, hardly-working sometime actress Lindsay Lohan. Why bother?

Why was TMZ so late to the story about Sandra Bullock's cheating husband Jesse James? It takes a Rat to know.

We don't like that Sandra Bullock-blindsided-by-Jesse James-and-the-tattooed-stripper lady story much, because Sandy's such a likeable plain jane who spent all that time bearding for Matthew McConaughey and now it's looking like the plum dumb Jesse may have been bearding for Sandy.

And after watching him on Celebrity Apprentice, we really liked believing that Jesse was a sincere and stand-up simple guy. But it's definitely a Hollywood tabloid story! And you'd figure it would be something the nasty conscience-free slugs at the corporate porn-pushing gossip site TMZ.com would be all over, sliding in the hot oiled jealousy and grappling in the celebrity embarrassment takedown behind their shaved bronzed midget frontman.

But they're not.

While even the LA Times splooged with stories about Oscar curses as it avoided the Tom Cruise elephant in the room, the gutter site has been tiptoeing around the story the same way they ignored Owen Wilson's troubles. Heck, the subliterate slugs even ran a pathetic diversionary story this morning about Jesse's missing dog.

Why such sympathy for the villain? Why the sidestepping cowardice?

Is it because the Bullock movie The Blind Side is distributed by Warner Bros., which owns TMZ?

Is it the McConaughey connection?

Or just the standard oh-bitch-pleez TMZ immorality and corruption?

Tabloid Baby pal The Big Cheese at the independent, entertaining, infiltrating news and gossip site Rumor Rat has the exclusive story.

Read it here.

And keep writing your own comments, Teemzers.

UPDATE: Just how pathetic and paltry is TMZ's coverage of this major scandal? Click here to read Rumor Rat's analysis and comparison with the work by the pros at RadarOnline.

911 calls: Corey Haim vs. Danny Gans

JUDY HAIM 911 CALL ..... JULIE GANS 911 CALL

How would one react upon awakening to find a loved one unexpectedly unresponsive, and from all indications, dead? The continuing drumbeat of celebrity deaths and the intense investigation and speculation accorded them by the media have made these awful events open to public scrutiny and interpretation. In January, we contrasted the 911 call made by the mother of tragic actress Brittany Murphy with the call made in the early hours of May 1st by the wife of Las Vegas superstar Danny Gans. Today, it is the 911 call made by Judy Haim, mother of addict and former teen idol Corey Haim, that reveals the reactions and actions of those tossed into the grief-stricken maelstrom of prescription drug-related death vary considerably, and are certainly not so easy to judge.

Pray for Michael Lohan

We love Michael Lohan. He's been a Tabloid Baby pal from way back. He was even our Person of The Year for 2007. Our pals at Frozen Pictures shot and tried to sell a reality television series about the guy twice-- and would have sold it if Lohan hadn't wound up in prison the first time and then denied being part it of the second time (he was afraid of what Lindsay might think of his antics). Michael Lohan's full of energy and enthusiasm and in his own special way he really does care about his daughter. Plus he's got an amazing ability to get himself in news about every three days. His talent for working and manipulating the gossip media is unmatched and maybe even unprecedented (after all, he's the pesky, felonious ex-con father of a former rising acting talent yet he gets as much attention as one of the Jolie-Pitts). In fact, we have a Michael Lohan Google news alert to keep us posted, and were a little worried yesterday morning when we realized he hadn't made the news since the weekend when he announced his support of Lindsay's lawsuit over that baby milkaholic television commercial.

And then we read that he had a heart attack.

Ryan O'Neal gets that date with his daughter

His pickup line at Farrah Fawcett's funeral must have worked, for Ryan O'Neal is seen as a third of an attractive threesome with his recently-reconciled daughter Tatum and a "mystery blonde" at last night's premiere of The Runaways movie at the Arclight Cinerama Dome in Hollywood.

Ryan and Tatum O'Neal, back in black

Ryan O'Neal, currently preparing a sequel to the Farrah's Story television special based on his on-off lover Farrah Fawcett's losing cancer battle, is photographed with his formerly-estranged daughter Tatum O'Neal at an awards ceremony in Los Angeles.

The pair were caught looking both festive and pensive at the American Society of Cinematographers 24th Annual Outstanding Achievement Awards.

Father and daughter last made headlines together in August, after Ryan O'Neal confessed in Vanity Fair magazine that he'd inadvertently "hit on" Tatum at Farrah's funeral.

The O'Neals have been estranged for years, at least since Tatum, 46, published her autobiography A Paper Life in 2004, describing her drug addiction, and a strained relationship with her father, painting a very unflattering picture of him.

The O'Neals starred together in the 1973 film Paper Moon, for which Tatum won a for Best Supporting Actress Oscar®. They've been estranged at least since 2004, when Tatum published an autobiography that described her horrific childhood and life of drug addiction.

Ryan O'Neal, 68, recently said he and Tatum have been trying to repair their relationship in the months since Farrah's death. In his recent interview with Alana Stewart's son Ashley Hamilton on Extra, he said he missed Tatum. In that Vanity Fair interview, however, he revealed he was still very angry at his daughter:

"She wrote a book— bitch! How dare she throw our laundry in the street for money!

"…She didn't call after Farrah's show! She'll have to explain that."
