Can Larry G Jones fill Danny Gans' signature black-and-white spectator shoes?
The world is about to find out as one of the many musical impressionists influenced by the late Las Vegas superstar is about to confront the legend head-on with his own one-man comic singing impressionist show on the Las Vegas Strip-- produced by Gans' close friend, collaborator and drummer.
We told you about musical impressionist Larry G Jones back in January, when he made a splash with a well-timed Tiger Woods parody. while working the Royal Resort Hotel just off the Strip. Now it's been announced that Jones will be moving to Planet Hollywood's Harmon Theatre on June 8th.
"This fast-paced fun filled show features an all-star celebrity cast of rapid-fire voice impressions including many of Las Vegas' biggest headliners. Cher, Elton John, Neil Diamond, Elvis, The Phantom of the Opera, and The Rat Pack are a part of the 75 plus voices Larry performs in each show. When you throw a few comedians, Hollywood celebrities, and presidential voices in the mix, there is enough comedy and music to appeal to just about everyone."
The show is produced by Raphael Erardy, who was Gans' drummer and confidante for 20 years, until Gans' tragic and untimely death at 52 on May 1, 2009.
The Larry G Jones - Comic Singing Impressionist show opens June 8th at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino's Harmon Theater, 3663 S. Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89109. The Harmon Theater entrance is located next to Krave Nightclub on the corner of the Las Vegas Blvd. & Harmon Ave. Tickets for the 7pm show will be $47.97 for general admission and VIP/Open bar tickets are available for $67.97. Shows will be nightly except for Sunday and Thursday. For show tickets call 702-836-0830 or book online at LarryGJones.com.

This has to be a joke right ? Does anyone with working eyes and ears actually think that Larry can fill Danny's shoes ? He's a ham and egger, he should stay in that hole on Convention Center Drive. He's a mediocre talent at best and NO WAY can he fill Danny's shoes. You should be ashamed by just printing that.
His Cher is horrible. I remember seeing him for free downtown at the Fitzgerald's and while some of his impressions are good most of them are boring and not very good. How did he get Entertainer of the Year? Geez.
No way is he as good as Danny Gans was.
You don't have your own show in Las Vegas for over 9 years if you're a mediocre talent. Larry has done just that since 2001.
While it would be difficult for anyone to Ever live up to winning Entertainer of the Year 12 times like Danny did, Larry is certainly the best impressionist in Las Vegas and has already won 'Entertainer of the year' in the corporate entertainment world (which is where Danny started out). His show in a better room could fill a void in the marketplace.
If his new producer who collaborated with Danny for over 20 years didn't see some major talent in Larry,he wouldn't bother working with him.
We hope the best for him at his new venue and will be back to see him again and again!!
It's no surprise Larry has moved up in Las Vegas. We've been watching him progress through the years and he's always honing his craft.
I've seen Larry several times dating way back (can't remember first year). I keep going back because the show is entertaining, and always has a new twist. Looking forward to seeing him at Planet Hollywood on my next trip to LV.
I saw Danny over at his new digs at the encore shortly before he died, his impressions of George Burns and many other celeberties from the 70s or prior were amazing as long as you were old enough to get the humor. However his impressions of more recent celeberties was less then stellar.
Larry Jones is a great contender to fill Dannys shoes. Not only have I seen him do the four tops one after another in perfect pitch I have seen him do many more recent and far more relevent impressions that are funny, in tune with the times, and most importantly very well done..
I've seen Larry's show about once a year for the past five years or so. I enjoy his impressions a lot. He is very professional and has an amazing voice. He can sing both parts of a duet, male and female!!
He's a warm and friendly performer who works the crowd like a pro. I think Danny would be pleased that a nice guy like Larry is stepping into his shoes.
Ironically I am listening to a cd I purchased at Larry g. Jones show as I read/write this and a co- worker walked in and said " I love Billy Joel"! I had to show her the cd to prove it wasn't him, that convinces me he is an amazing talent!!! I saw him in a tiny venue, loved the show and his humble attitude! I can't wait to see him at planet Hollywood on a big stage that he desperately deserves. If you haven't seen the show, I have one word for you, GO!!!!
What does the "G" stand for and why?
First of all...no one will ever fill Danny Gans shoes, ever. We will never again see that combination of talents in one performer. Larry has his own unique talents that I believe put him a cut above many who do what he does. Like so many talented performers, you just have to steer them in the right direction to present what they do in the best and most entertaining show format you can...and no one did it better than Danny Gans!
We saw this show at Planet Hollywood. He Absolutely rivals Danny Gan's talent as an impressionist and probably exceeds him as a singer. The show is extremely well done. We were very please to pay full price of only $48. Much better than the last time we saw him which was still great. Can't wait to see it again next time we're in Vegas!
Most of the decent anonymous comments i think were written by Larry himself, basically larry is an ok act if you don't get out much, most of his impressions are way off the mark!
He works hard for the crowd that's why people like him, but there's no star quality there, he's been here long enough to be picked up by a major hotel, and he has not.
Gans was a good impressionist not great, but his show was seamless and very well crafted and that's what made it so good to watch.
you have a long long long way to go Larry, but good luck!
Larry is great Were his biggest eastcoast fans Adair & Jim
