Alana Stewart says she's producing a film about Farrah Fawcett

Liz Smith is still alive and still has a column, in which she reveals this week that Farrah Fawcett’s friend Alana Stewart, who, with a quickie book, producing credit on the Emmy-nominated NBC cancer special, a cancer foundation and a gig for her son on Extra, has made more hay than anyone out of her relationship with the beloved actress, plans to executive produce a film about Farrah.

"It will deal with her rise to stardom on 'Charlie’s Angels' and the years that followed, but will touch only briefly on her long battle with the cancer that finally killed her... "The big problem will be finding an actress to play Farrah. The late star was not in any way a typical blonde bimbo type. She had a deep sensitivity and vulnerability that came through in her work, and a sort of soul-bruised vibe in later years. Alana has her work cut out for her. Good luck!"


Liz makes it sound to be a scripted project like that Behind The Camera TV movie on NBC back in 2004, and not a documentary. Add this to Ryan O'Neal's threequel to Love Story and Farrah's Story, one might say the Seventies icon is becoming an industry again.

Now Kim Kardashian is a producer

Propelled into the spotlight of pop culture stardom by her membership in an unpleasant family chosen to be featured in a reality television show, her performance in a masterfully-promoted sex tape and her unusually large and disproportionate buttocks, Kim Kardashian has now entered a new level of television control once reserved for professionals who'd labored for years to achieve the lofty status. E! Television announces this morning that Ms. Karadashian is listed as executive producer of a television special called "The SPINdustry,” which promises to take us "inside the fast-paced world of entertainment PR." From this half-hour of low budget television airing February 21st launches a new era of television, if not the latest sign of the Apocalypse. Kim Kardashian has already cheapened the notion of stardom. Now she's doing the same for "producing."

(In light of that prodigious posterior, the phrase "couldn't produce a fart with a can of sauerkraut" somehow seems a little too on the nose. And you were worried about the Brits getting all the TV jobs.)

OJ Simpson & the nude Cheetah Girl

Weird connections in the world of tabloid fame and they always seem to go back to Tabloid Baby. We'd never heard of this Cheetah Girl Adrienne Bailon though we know of The Cheetah Girls, since our kids watch them on the Disney Channel and we've got a special affection for Disney culture, but she's the third Disney Girl to get caught up in a nude or sexy photo scandal in the past year or so (Miley Cyrus and Vanessa Hudgens being the others-- so far). Adrienne is 25, which makes her a little old to be a Disney teen star, so she may have orchestrated this to move her into the adult leagues, but the other connections are more interesting. The naked Adrienne photos that showed up online were supposedly stolen from her laptop, and meant for the eyes of her boyfriend, Robert Kardashian, Jr., who happens to be the son of OJ Simpson's late friend Robert Kardashian, the guy who carried Simpson's bag-- and murder evidence-- away from his home the morning after Simpson's wife and friend were found murdered. And Robert Jr.'s sister is Kim Kardashian, the celebutard who got famous through an Internet porn video-- and who's best known for having a huge ass.
