National protest against Proposition 8

The celebration of Barack Obama's election was definitely tempered in this part of California when it became apparent that the great step forward in civil rights was countered by a vote to take away the right of some people to get married. It wasn't like the issue was up for grabs. They had the right already and some out-of-state religious extremists spent millions of dollars to take it away.
