This is Dodger Stadium, 24 hours before Monday morning's 10 a.m. news conference welcoming Joe Torre back to Los Angeles. Podiums will be set up in center field for the official announcement that he'll be taking over as manager for the Dodgers' 50th season in LA.
Meanwhile, Sweet Lou Johnson signed balls and calendars outside the stadium this morning. The Major League left fielder throughout the Sixties (1960-69) played for the Dodgers from the Summer of the Watts Riots through the Summer of Love, and is now an integral part of the Dodgers’ community relations efforts and member of the Dodgers Speakers’ Bureau.
