TMZ debuted with a 1.7 (1.7 Harveys shown above), which means the show came in last place among the infotainment magazine shows and that its formula of creepy old man + pretty young boys + plain women works a little less than half as well as The Insider's mix of creepy old man + pretty young men & women + Cojo.
Entertainment Tonight stayed at #1 with a 4.8, Inside Edition, the show nobody watches, managed a giant 3.3; The Insider and Access Hollywood tied at 2.3; while Extra!, the "sistership" of TMZ at Warner Brothers, managed a 1.8, just a hair more than TMZ.
