Los Angeles-area viewers were cheated out of out on what turned out to be Jerry Lewis' most emotional, powerful and memorable-- and quite possibly last-- closing song of the Labor Day MDA telethon.
Just watch.
UPDATE: As it turns out, programmers had second thoughts and ran the finale more than 90 minutes later, at 4:49 pm, the end of the local version of the telethon. Was it due to viewer outrage?

That was a TV moment for sure. I always think that when show biz types cry, it's mostly planned out for effect, but he really seems to lose it. At one point they show his distressed daughter, and you can read her lips saying to the effect, should we go out there or something?" I yelled at the TV, "YES!" but it didn't happen. What a way to end a show...
ReplyDeleteGod Bless Jerry Lewis,he is one of a kind, his heart is pure, he trully loves each and everyone of these kids (no matter if they are 1yr old or 100yrs young) they are "HIS" kids and I Believe his tears were very real, this was his heart breaking, I am sure he perhaps is beginning to feel fear, he lost Ed this year, so its alot to deal with, he has lost many many of his beloved kids, this man would so love for them to find a cure while he is still alive to see it, I hope and pray that they do! God Bless You Jerry Lewis! You are a true "TREASURE" I love and respect you with my all!xo
