Farrah Fawcett makes it Playboy's Sexy 101

Rickety Playboy magazine took some heat last fall when it when it buried its tribute to the recently-deceased Farrah Fawcett in an October issue that featured cartoon character Marge Simpson on its cover (with Tracy Morgan getting larger typeface than the Charlie's Angels icon).

It now appears Playboy is making amends for its misstep by giving Farrah special mention in its upcoming special edition, "Playboy's Sexy 100," the annual "salute (to) 100 of the hottest women who have captured our attention over the past year -- from sexy celebrities who've graced the cover of Playboy magazine to toned athletes, reality TV babes and fresh faces you'll want to keep an eye on . . ."

And why not? Farrah's December 1995 issue sold four million copies, the best-selling of the decade.

  1. She SHOULD be included in that list. She was absolutely gorgeous. There's no disputing that.

  2. Still NOT ENOUGH!!!! They should have put her ON THE COVER (ONE LAST TIME)in honor of the woman who sold them A LOT of magazines when she appeared in it!

    Hugh Hefner SUCKS!

  3. She deserves a cover. Farrah had 3 of the highest selling issues and derserves more then wht she has gotten over the past 10 months.
Playboy please give us a Farrah cover at some point!

  4. I will never understand why Farrah is not on the cover.
I agree with the previous post and that is she did have the highest selling issues and deserves the cover.

  5. I agree that Farrah Fawcett is definatly in the top 100 hottest women who captured out attention in the last year, but I wouldn't consider not getting the cover an insult. She should have gotten a cover last summer in tribute after she passed away. She had so many more great accomplishments in her life. Playboy? Ehhh.

  6. No one reads Playboy anymore. It's written for 50 yr olds. Farrah deserves better than this crap.

  7. 50 yr olds need lovin' too!!!

  8. buuuuut, this issue isn't just about Farrah. She should have been honored in a tribute cover in the months following her passing.

  9. 11:24,
There's stuff to READ in Playboy ???

  10. Who is the woman on the cover anyway???
Still Playboy does not realize if they put Farrah on the cover it would have been her fourth highest selling issue!
    Wake up Hugh!

  11. She does deserve the cover or a complete tribute issue.
Im sure there are hundreds of outtakes that we never seen before and im sure it would be her 4th highest selling issue.
I guess Viagra has destroyed Mr.Hefner's judgement!

  12. Maybe, but some on here would just say he's doing it only for the money and taking advantage of her...right??

Smart, Wise/Ass point! However, NO ... you are wrong! ...

Playboy's photos belong to 'Playboy Magazine' ... doing a TRIBUTE magazine or book is NOT making money off of Farrah. It is giving recognition. I'm sure Hugh Hefner is in no need of money!

Making money off of Farrah is when she is USED to sell items which are NOT authorized by her Estate! ... Making money off of Farrah is also by USING her image/name to organizations which she DID NOT authorize, herself! ... Making money off of Farrah is when she is also USED to gain attention in the media by saying all kinds of nonsense and then publishing a book on her!

Making money off of Farrah is when her items are being sold, USING her name, and stating they once belonged to her!

  14. Michael,
First off, the FF foundation was started by Farrah herself. Read her will, it's on TMZ.com, she provides for it. And the things on Ebay are sold by a lady who Farrah used to give things to to sell. She guarentees them, I know because I was interested in some items, and I asked her.
    Thank you,
    Miss Smart, Wise Ass

  16. Michael,
My mistake--The will is on RADAR online, not TMZ.

  17. Farrah's Foundation wasn't really even off the ground at the time of her death!

    Michal Europe is spot on!!!

Also, Farrah does deserve alot of cover stories. I think we all agree that her death was so over-shaddowed by Michael Jackson's death that it was hard for Fawcett fans to comprehend!

Playboy or any other publication that puts Farrah on the cover...well it is well deserved!

As for the will...The foundation is discussed in the will, but also offers other solutions as to where the money is to go in case the foundation doesn't survive. I think even Farrah had her doubts about the success of the foundation.

  18. 12:19,
You don't know what Farrah thought. It's almost like you're hoping the foundation doesn't succeed. People like you certainly aren't helping it "survive".

  19. woah, red flag being a po box to send donations to ? look at the names on the board- plus how in the hell long does it take to install telephones, and good contact info. looks bogus to me.No way Farrah had any part in that scrappy sleazy look

    ReplyDelete
  20. April 20....Amen to that!
No phone, just Post Office Box, and such little information on how/where the money is going to be used.

Other foundations lay out specific by-laws on how everything is going to be done. Nothing on that website shows much of anything!

Dr. Jacobs...about the only board member that I would trust too!

    ReplyDelete
  21. 8:48,
Once again, your 'logic' makes no sense. You trust Dr. Jacobs?? So what, you trust her but don't think she's informed and intelligent enough to know to connect her name/reputation with something legit?? You have no reason for you accusations--ever. You just get on here to see your hatred and bigotry in print and to do nothing but try to make something out of nothing. Loser.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Hatred and bigotry are such strong words to call someone you don't even know.

What is wrong with someone having faith in Dr. Jacobs (who by the way is in another country and would have no clue what is really going on here)!

As for logic making since...well what about yours? You seem to believe in everything! I believe that people have a right to question foundations or anywhere they choose to give money, to make sure they are legit and that the money received is going and being used for the purpose it was designed too!

You are a very mean person!

I hope that the Farrah Fawcett Foundation is a success, but I do agree with the Anon that questions just a P.O. Box and no real phone number, offices, etc. That to me is not unreasonable! So mean person, you keep calling people names and making your judgements, but I am afraid that you are doing to be very dissapointed when we finally get all the facts about everything Farrah!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Well, Cathy,
You seem to have a hard time understanding people's points. My point is, you state that you 'trust' Dr. Jacobs, right?? So, if yiu trust her then you should believe that she would make sure that before she sign her name to support an organiziation, that it would be something she strongly believes in and supports. RIGHT??

The site encourages people to write to ask questions for more info. If you're so sure it is 'not legit', and you want to know where you're money is going, have you written for more information before you make statements to the contrary?? I didn't think so.

You need to look 'mean' up in the dictionary. I believe yours and your buddy, 'N's' pics are there--not mine.

  24. Well Keith, I don't want to write and research Farrah's Foundation. And I shouldn't have too. There should be so much more information given by the foundation. People shouldn't have to do the work. If it is to succeed then they need to do the work. Yes, people will give, but I'm not until I and only I believe it to be totally on the up and up. AND since you think you know who I am...which you are sadly mistaken...go for it! Find me! Let's email or talk elsewhere. People like you who are so interested in trying to expose anonymous people are really insecure and childish. And I don't care if you like my spelling or not....so mistakes are made in typing...(yours too..take a look), you really are in need of help.

Dr. Jacobs would want to help! But, hopefully she stays with it. Kate Jackson found out the truth and did a turn around, so it certainly makes me wonder who else will get some smarts.

I really do feel sorry for you. Thinking you and Farrah were friends when she "fired you" and you still want to pretend that you were best buds. But, still praying for you, as hard as it is and I'm not going to quit. I really think you need it even more now!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Guess what? Wrong AGAIN. My name is NOT Keith, nor am I a man or was I friends with Farrah Fawcett. Sorry to disappoint you if that's who you think you've been sparring with here, but it's not. And I know you're next entry will be that I'm a liar and you don't believe it, but I really don't care. Although, maybe you will, since you seem to believe everything somebody posts on this blog.

  26. Honestly it doesn't matter who you are! Do you really think you know who I am?

Let's go back to the post prior to your 8:24 post!
You said, "You don't know what Farrah thought. It's almost like you're hoping the foundation doesn't succeed. People like you certainly aren't helping it "survive"." Here is where we have a problem. No I did not know what Farrah thought, but she did leave provisions in the will if, (IF), the foundation was no longer in existance!

You immediately take it as a slam. I didn't start the slam to the Foundation...Michael E. Did!

I simply pointed out what the will said (the same will you refered to in an eariler post). Then you attack!!! I just don't get you. And for the record I know who you are, but calling you Keith is just plain fun. He is one of the most unliked people from Farrah's life. Of course there are others, but you would just have a heart attack again and I am kind of tired of it.

However, my offer stands! You know who I am...email me! Let's really say what we mean, but not so publically!! But, don't bother to respond...you won't...cowardly comes to mind. Sorry!

  28. Tabloid Baby: Request

In April Alana Stewart received an award "Geni Award"! Can you tell your readers about it? How did it go; what did she say; any information at all? Some thought she should get the award and others did not think she should get the award!

So, did she talk about Farrah, give her any credit, say it couldn't be done without her? Did she thank others that worked on the project? Did she express sadness, remorse, happiness that doc got recognized? You guys seem to be able to get the scoop, so if you could I would love to hear about it.

    Thanks Tabloid Baby!

  29. Sorry, sad little person, but my heart is very healthy--BP 112/70--no heart attack any time soon. And, calling people 'Keith' is fun for you?? You really need to get out more. Jello shots are fun. Shopping at Barney's is fun. Fighting with idiots on blogs is fun. Calling people Keith is just plain weird.

And, seriously, give any of you freaks my email?? It's scary enough just to leave your name. No thanks. Not cowardly--SMART.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Smart...you might want to look that up yourself! You have not displayed much of that here.

Blogging is fun is your comment. You don't make it fun, you make it personel! And I knew you wouldn't go so far as to really stand up to me. Think you know who I am??? Well, you are a pretty small little person yourself. I don't care about your health it is your soul that concerns me.

But yet again you continue to change the subject that I was refering to which was about the Foundation. Again, I was not slamming it, but you certainly jumped on everyones response.

Just to be clear....one more time..I hope it is a success, but if not, it is a fact that Farrah's will (which you pointed out to everyone to read), makes provisions for what to do with the money! Very simple.

    ReplyDelete
  31. 4:36,
Please. And you think your personal attacks ARE fair?? What a double standard. You come on here, blast people and make unfounded accusations against people you admit you don't even know. THAT'S fair??

  32. Hello,
After a conversation with a friend about Farrah Fawcett, she told me to check out this blog and another called Hitman PR blog. Some of the items brought up are very disturbing. Can those of you who take issue with Alana Stewart, Ryan O'Neal and the foundation Farrah started share where you get your information from? I have not read or heard word of these things you make accusations of. If any of this is true, I would like to see the proof of it for myself.
    Thank you,
    PA Farrah fan

    ReplyDelete
  33. PA Farrah fan,
They don't have any 'proof'. The even admit over and over that they don't know any of the people involved--on either side. It's just a group (SMALL group) of trouble-making bullies that banded together on the Hitman blog. They believe everything the hear said by Greg or Craig (even though they don't know them) and believe nothing they hear from Alana, Ryan, Bernie (even though they don't know THEM either). And every time they do something positive, like helping to bring her foundation to fruition, they twist it into something ugly. AGAIN, with no actual proof. Ignore them.
