Antonella sex pix: Could it be a lookalike?!

There's a new twist in the Antonella Barba American Idol sex photo scandal. The latest "CSI" analysis of sex-act photos that have made international headlines and caused consternation amid the highest levels of the Idol machine-- reveals that they may feature an Antonella lookalike!

VotefortheWorst.com, a website that urges people to vote for the least-talented Idol contestants, is now linking to an amateur porn site that includes additional shots from the same sex session. The site indicates the woman in the close-up sex act photos is seen above, at right. (Antonella is at left). Then again, this may be manipulation as well (remember, VotefortheWorst wants to keep weak singers like Antonella in the running).

But if it does turn to be a different woman in the X-rated shots, it confirms our earlier suspicion that a) the deliberate leaking of these photos is a publicity ploy... and/or b) someone has it out for Antonella. The 20-year-old would surely also receive a lot of sympathy--and perhaps forgiveness-- for the other embarrassing, yet tame-by-comparison pictures she did pose for (she'd still have to apologize for posing on a national monument).

No comment from Idol... or Antonella's family, so far.

It's 'Antonella Night' on American Idol

Tonight is Antonella Night on American Idol. The poor little vixen looked terrified (and uncomfortable, too) in the brief audience shots during Sanjaya Night-- but one thing's certain-- she will not be disqualified by the producers. Word came last night, believe it or not, from the Idol judges and host-- at a party at the The Playboy Mansion!

Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Ryan Seacrest were partying with Hef last night.

And they all, craftily, took Ms. Barba's side in the naughty photo scandal.

Sez Simon: "These people haven't done anything illegal; that's their private life. (The photos should) not affect her standing on the show, and if the public wants to keep her in, they'll keep her in."

Randy: "Nobody's clean in the entertainment business."

Ryan: "It's just tacky, disgusting. You've got a girl who's trying to make it on a show where she needs a vote, and someone's trying to tear that away from her. (I'd) absolutely let (Antonella ) stay on. If American Idol is a true representation of American youth, we're going to find imperfections. And it's OK to be imperfect."

Producer Nigel Lythgoe confirms that it will be up to America (and a few phone calls from India) to decide if Antonella has violated some unwritten moral code and deserves to be eliminated.

And it turns out that, as we predicted, those sex-act photos (that came through that source that first presented the tamer snaps), have actually helped Antonella...

With general agreement that Antonella's not the gal in the hardcore pix (NSFW!) (thanks to additional photos (NSFW!) that confused the issue enough for everyone to give the poor kid the benefit of the doubt), she's got the sympathy vote.

Now, showing off her butt crack, posing on the toilet, grappling topless in group shots, grinding up against other coeds, peeling off her thong and groping herself soaking wet on a national monument-- even imitating Jessica Simpson-- seem pretty wholesome.

Even the lady at the New York Times rewrites history and cleans up the mess today by referring to "an amateurish Internet scandal involving fake dirty pictures." Then again, she calls Paula Abdul a "mom I'd like to sleep with"-- how's that for cleaning up a phrase?

So tonight, all eyes are on Antonella. Will she play the minx ala McPhee? Or will she cry? And the bigger question: Could she actually get to the finals? Does she have a chance to actually win? A few gambling sites are laying out the odds.

Sadly, the oddsmakers don't think she has a chance. Her current odds to win at 5Dimes.com are "+4000." That means a $100 bet on Antonella to win would result in a $4,000 payout. BetUS.com oddsmakers believe Antonella may end up posing for Hef or one of his competitors: "She will appear nude in Playboy +600*"... "She will appear nude in Penthouse +800*".

'Girls Gone Wild' wants Idol's Antonella

American Idol bad girl Antonella Barba has something to fall back on if she's ever voted off the show.

Sleazy Joe Francis and his Girls Gone Wild company are offering her a job as celebrity host in their video series. And they're putting $250,000 on the table.

The Girls Gone Wild DVDs feature college girls, strippers and other inebriated types peeling off their clothes and engaging in mild girl-on-girl action for the cameras--not unlike the photos of Antonella that hit the Internet and made her a star.

Francis and his crowd paint Antonella as part of a grand American tradition of "girls behaving badly" that includes Miss USA's former Miss Nevada, Paris Hilton, Britney Spears and Condoleeza Rice.

"There's a little Girls Gone Wild in every woman and this should be embraced as a positive, not a negative," Francis says in a press release today. "Why are people being ridiculed and punished for being sexual? It's ridiculous. Antonella Barba is an unbelievably sexy girl who obviously knows how to have a good time."

Hey, it's a quarter million dollars. Hugh Hefner didn't put up any money when he suggested last week that Antonella might appear in Playboy. And when Rosie O'Donnell waded into the controversy yesterday, she didn't offer Antonella a Disney cruise.

Antonella is set to sing on Idol tonight. Last night's show featured the male contestants revealing something we didn't know about them. We wonder what she's still got to hide.

'Idol' finally addresses its Antonella issue

"I feel for you, cause you've taken a lot of stick in the media. I think you've handled yourself well throughout, and I don't think anyone should be put in that situation. But I'm not going to patronize you here..."

As the situation mushrooms from a naughty half-naked photo scandal to charges of discrimination, racism, favoritism, unpatriotism and porn-peddling immorality behind the scenes of America's top television show, the Antonella Barba scandal finally got a mention on American Idol last night. Simon Cowell stepped gingerly around the controversy while doing his best to subliminally order viewers to vote the poor thing out before things get even farther out of hand. His comments to Antonella after she managed to mangle a Corinne Bailey Rae easy-listening Starbucks staple constituted a gracious kiss-off to the worst remaining female singer.

Antonella, true to form, didn't get it.

Said Simon: "You've gone as far as you can go, Antonella. I mean, the reality is, and I think you know this yourself, which is, you are surrounded by some pretty amazing girl singers. And I don't know how much more you can do, to be honest with you, because I don't think your voice is going to get any better.

"I feel for you, cause you've taken a lot of stick in the media. I think you've handled yourself well throughout, and I don't think anyone should be put in that situation. But I'm not going to patronize you here. It wasn't your worst, we've heard you sound worse, but I just have a problem here, which is I just wish you could sing better."

As she did last week, Antonella responded to the criticism by challenging it. She said, in part:

"I know I'm surrounded by really talented people and I think that I'm just, I have a different style than them and I'm not trying to compare myself to anyone else and I with the judges wouldn't compare me to anyone else because I try to be myself... We're all different, we're all unique."

Two gals and two guys will be eliminated tonight at 8. Our money is on Antonella hanging in. And if she does, don't be surprised if "someone" leaks more-explicit photos that they've been holding back, so Idol producers have no choice but to ask her to leave the competition.

Farewell, Antonella, The Million Dollar Babe

Good timing for American Idol last night, sending Antonella Barba packing just as the show kicks into its Bono-inspired save-the-world mode with the "Idol Gives Back" charity event for kids in Africa and (probably because the British producers assume that the majority of the Idol audience are selfish Yanks who don't care about Africa) here in the States.

But don't cry for Antonella. She might be heading home to Jersey without a recording contract, but if she plays her cards right, she's easily walking away as a Million Dollar Babe. Already on the table are a $250,000 offer to host Girls Gone Wild DVDs, a $500,000 to be spokesgal for the SugarDVD online adult video store, and Hugh Hefner's suggestion that she'd be an obvious subject for a Playboy spread.

Then there are probable offers from the tabloids, Maxim, Kohler bathroom fixtures, Charmin, Swifter, Catholic University, The North Carolina University Tar Heels, the VFW, MacAweenie & Cheese, and Entertainment Tonight or one of the network newsmagazines that'll pay her under the table for an exclusive interview.

Which way will she go? Because Antonella wasn't allowed to be interviewed while an Idol contestant, everyone was able to project their own version of the 20 year-old through the sultry photos and smartass demeanor on Idol. Our bet's on Playboy, for starters.

UPDATE: Antonella appeared on Fox's Morning Show this morning and was pretty nonchalant about the photo scandal, saying, "Personal private property got into the hands of the wrong people." She didn't reveal her future plans and the hosts didn't ask any heavy questions, but Antonella did say she's open to singing-- and acting-- jobs. She also offered a warning to girls everywhere: "Cover your tracks!"

Protesters cry racism in Idol's Antonella scandal

Just when American Idol's Antonella Barba scandal quiets down a bit, a Ghost of Topless Photos past pops up to accuse the show of All-American hypocrisy.

Frenchie Davis was a plus-sized African-American singer who got the boot in the 2003 season because she'd once been paid to pose topless for a website. She's suggested, and this morning protesters are declaring, that Antonella is being allowed to stay on the show because she's a white girl!

LA civil rights activist Najee Ali of Project Islamic H.O.P.E. is supposed to be leading a "Anti-American Idol Rally" outside the Kodak Theatre (site of the show's finale) right now.

"It's obvious that it's a racial bias... when you have a situation where a black contestant is punished and a similar situation happens to a white contestant and there is no punishment and they're allowed to continue on the show," he says. "They can't have a rule for white contestants and have a different rule for black contestants."

Frenchie adds: "I couldn't help but notice the manner in which she was dealt with was the complete opposite of how I was dealt with... I'm certainly not interested in pissing people off, but this is an unfairness that can't be ignored."

Now, as far as the official story goes, Antonella never posed professionally and was blindsided by the posting of her amateur shots and college girl-on-girl explorations.

She gained valuable sympathy from producers and the public when everyone agreed that she was not, as alleged, the woman in sex act photos (that is until someone comes up with the OJ-Bruno Magli shots showing Antonella wearing acrylic-- NSFW-- nails).

And it didn't hurt that Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Ryan Seacrest all confirmed support for Antonella while they were lounging with Hugh Hefner at the Playboy Mansion.

The only blip in the Antonella story this week has been the leaking of a few more shots (NSFW) of her stripping session on the National World War II Memorial, and some more squeaks about her siding with Hitler by desecrating the shrine. No kidding.

American Idol: Did Antonella blow it?

No apology. No outrage. No explanation. There was no mention at all of the Antonella Barba's sexy photo scandal on American Idol last night. Antonella wore a sexy print mini dress, massacred a Celine Dion song that she dedicated to her brother, wiggled her butt and even made a nasty, misguided comment to Simon Cowell after he criticized her mewlings.

Antonella did not, as expected, address the toilet/topless/lesbian photos that have spread through the Internet and spilled over into the mainstream. Nor did she apologize for photos showing her posing provocatively at a national war memorial-- though there is a rising anger about that.

Instead, she snapped at Cowell, accusing him of kicking Jennifer Hudson out of the competition. Simon reminded her that it was the voters who did that. In another world, Antonella might well be singing her goodbye tonight, because based on her performance, she'd stand a good chance of being eliminated. But based on her popularity, don't count on it (unless Idol does its magic with the phone calls).

Funniest was the taped introduction to her song, which included many snapshots of Antonella and her brother. We expected to see some of those topless numbers pop up.

Antonella Barba sex pix get the CSI treatment

It's a case of good news-bad news for embattled, exhibitionist American Idol contestant Antonella Barba. As we went into the weekend, her name was tops on many web search engines-- even besting Britney Spears, who made her own share of headlines this past week. The bad news? Anonymous cyberspace detectives have been hard at work analyzing those "sex act" photos that hit the web yesterday-- in an effort to prove that it is indeed a less-busty (see breast enhancement evidence here) Antonella depicted in what could be the Idol-ending poses.

Somebody really hates this poor girl. We here at Tabloid Baby were sent links to high-resolution, uncensored copies of the sex shots:

"Bookmark these links and download the pix ASAP before they get taken offline or this comment gets deleted. Then spread 'em further around the Web! Please reproduce them without blurring or an overlaid logo!"

Why?

Maybe it's the same person who sent the orginal oral sex shots to IDon'tLikeYouInThatWay.com, which blurred and branded them. Today, that site ran an anonymous promise that real Antonella product is in the pipeline:

"Hey, don't mention my name but my boyfriend goes to catholic university with antonella barba and is on the lax team with her ex boyfriend ( who she dumped right when she got to hollywood) and when i saw these pics i called him and asked him if they were real and he said they def were... he saw them in person before and he also saw a naked calender that she made for him as a birthday present... which he said is getting leaked on the internet soon."

We're sure the Idol producers are digging the controversy--especially after the show got beaten by Grey's Anatomy on Thursday night. But will they allow the show to lose its "family" appeal? Or its "American" appeal? There may be few things more American than soft-core porn, but there's another thread of anger out there-- veterans, angry she "desecrated" the National World War II Memorial in the DC mall by posing for pictures (here, NSFW) in the fountain. (Hey, WWII vets invented the pin-up. They should consider it an honor).

Stay tuned. This story's on a fast-moving cycle that's bound to come to an end soon. And it's bigger than Antonella Barba. A few weeks ago she was an anonymous college girl growing up in an age of cell phone videos, MySpace, Maxim, The Real World, Sex & The City and Fox Television. American Idol's Antonella: Now, the sex photos

Oh well. We can't say we're surprised, but it looks like the scandal over American Idol contestant Antonella Barba's photographic past has come to a head even quicker than we'd expected. The website I Don't Like You In That Way has come up with some photos that allegedly show the exhibitionistic Antonella in an act of sexual intimacy. We don't have independent confirmation, but the site has been on top of the photo scandal, and matches the sex shot at left with another Antonella pic for eyebrow, eye and nose comparisons. We won't show you her mouth.

Should the latest pictures (NSFW!) indeed depict the 20-year-old from New Jersey, they'll probably guarantee that she'll soon be leaving the Idol stage for a lucrative new career. For now, Idol E.P. Nigel Lithgoe says he hasn't seen the latest snaps. ''We have really good background checks on everybody, and we deal with that every season,'' he adds. ''It's sad, isn't it, that your best friends are the ones that come forward with information that will go to Smoking Gun or put your photographs on the web?''

Bathroom Humour: The Idol joke's on Antonella

Someone at American Idol definitely has a twisted sense of humour. Top 24 semifinalist Antonella Barba created a mini-scandal this week, as a photo showing her sitting half-naked on a toilet spread through the Internet. So what happened last night as the top women got to perform?

Antonella was the only one who started her song sitting down!

That's another reason they're Number One (or Number Two). After Antonella's performance last night, it looks like we don't have to worry much about the photo getting her kicked off the show-- her singing will take care of that.

We knew we wouldn't make it through the week. Just when it seemed Antonella Barba, the pretty but talent-deficient 20-year-old Catholic University student from New Jersey, had ridden out the sex photo scandal that threatened her chances on American Idol-- here we go again!

Once again, it's a Sapphic college photo. Once again, it's just this side of porn. Once again, it's enough to be embarrassing to Antonella, her family and the Idol producers and their quest for a role model singing star.

More scandal pix for American Idol's Antonella

The hits just keep on coming for American Idol hopeful Antonella Barba, as the Cindy Crawford of the Top 24 is turning into the Storm Large. Yesterday, photos of the 20-year-old sitting on the loo and discreetly topless showed up on the Internet. Today there are more-- and they don't come from from some nasty tabloid but thanks to her local newspaper!

The Phillyburbs newschain website has printed a portfolio of topless, boozing, authority-flaunting and girl-grinding pix (someone suggested they look like MySpace grabs).

That's a hazard of MySpace. And one thing we can be pretty sure of... there will be more to come.

We'll see if Antonella's pipes hold up on tonight's show. And if the producers don't find her image to be too tarnished for an Idol. A toilet bowl's one thing, but giving the finger? That's Rock Star Supernova territory.

Anyway, if Antonella doesn't make it as the American Idol, she can always go for Miss USA. She'd be a shoo-in.

It's turned out to be one of the most controversial photos of American Idol contestant Antonella Barba to be leaked to the Internet... controversial because many observers are saying the "standing next to a pink vibrator under Angelina Jolie's boobs" photo isn't controversial at all-- especially not compared to shots of our girl posing topless, in a national war memorial fountain or on a toilet bowl.

Sex Idol Antonella: Now there's a video!

The Antonella Barba sex photo scandal was overshadowed for a few hours by the Oscars® hoopla, but we kept you up-to-date over the weekend as the story jumped to the "mainstream" international news media (wouldn't you know, all it took was a little oral sex). And now that we're into a new work week, new photos of the American Idol contestant continue to be doled out by whatever forces are behind the move to turn the would-be singing star into the next Porn Idol. Antonella Barba might be the shy, trembling waif on American Idol, but there's definitely a crack in the facade. The New Jersey girl from Catholic University sure shows a different side in the creepingly more-explicit photos that are being doled out on the Internet every morning (she's apparently in the fountain in the DC War Memorial!). With many folks saying her survival through last night's elimination was helped by the publicity, it's only a matter of time before Idol producers make a move before they have another Frenchie scandal on their hands.

Somebody's got it in for Antonella Barba, the Jersey girl who made it to the Top 24 on American Idol. Photos like this are spreading across the net. They were taken before she entered the competition and aren't close to sex pix, but the "half nude on a toilet" description is pretty embarrassing, and people are already predicting they could get her bounced from the competition.

Yes, Antonella Barba made it through to the next round of American Idol, and so did Sanjaya Malakar, probably because he seemed to be auditioning for an invite to the Neverland Ranch-- but we knew they'd make it. Two of this season's best singers also got a step closer to the title. But maybe it's because Melinda Doolittle and Stephanie Edwards are miles above most of the competition that we had the nagging suspicion we'd seen them before. And last night, we figured out where.
